BRIAN MORGAN has signed for a third spell at Sauchie Juniors.

The club legend was announced as signing for the Reds on Saturday, November 16, going on to make an appearance against Penicuik.

Alongside his playing duties, the club confirmed that Morgan would also play a part in the Sauchie Juniors pathway, helping youngsters from the under 18s and 20s make their way into the senior team.

Manager Fraser Duncan said: “Brian will play a role this year in helping and assisting through younger talent from our under 20s and 18s, he knows what the club is all about.

“He also has the desire to help us out when we need him and will play his part in what we are now faced with.”

Morgan returns to Sauchie at quite a pivotal time, with Sauchie having faced a 15-point deduction for fielding ineligible players.

The former captain initially departed the club at the end of last season, his last act being lifting the East of Scotland League Cup on Saturday, June 1.

Morgan scored the winner in extra time against Haddington Athletic, capping off an exciting 3-2 cup final in Denny.

Speaking to Advertiser Sport back in June, Morgan said: “I told Fraser and the boys I wasn’t signing on next season, it’s taking a toll on my body and I need to look after my health outside of football.

“I’ve got a good job and I don’t want to be injured, be off work and be unable to provide for my family.

“I’ve loved it here and it’s been great but sometimes you have to make these hard decisions and think about further along.”

Duncan said at the close of last season that there would always be a spot for Morgan should he decide to return.
