SAUCHIE JUNIORS have added four new players to their roster ahead of the new season beginning.
Fraser Duncan has been hard at work bolstering his side’s ranks as he aims to build the squad up before the league starts.
His first order of business was securing the signature of striker Aaron Isaacs from Stirling Albion.
Isaacs makes the short move from Forthbank to Beechwood and aims to be an attacking threat going forward at Sauchie.
Duncan said: “We are delighted to get Aaron on board, he is an excellent addition and glad to have him here.”
Next up for the Reds was Ciaren Chalmers, who has signed for Sauchie after leaving Cowdenbeath.
The 26-year old defender has been on Sauchie’s list for several years now and Duncan was delighted to finally get the transfer over the line.
He commented: “Ciaren is a player we have tracked for a few years now and to finally get him in is superb.
“Looking forward to seeing him in a Sauchie shirt and delighted with the signing.”
The back line was an area of focus for the Sauchie boss, which he has further strengthened by the addition of goalkeeper Kyle Moran.
Moran joins the club following his departure from East of Scotland Second Division side Kennoway Star Hearts, making the move up through the leagues to the Premier Division.
Duncan added: “Kyle is a keeper we’ve been watching closely, he is a young lad who will work hard and develop into a quality goalkeeper.”
Lastly, Sauchie have added to their midfield ranks with the addition of experienced player Davy Churchill.
Churchill comes into the squad with an impressive resume, having played for Broxburn, Civil Service Strollers, Cumbernauld Colts and East Stirlingshire.
Duncan said: “Davy adds experience at this level and comes to us with a great determination to do well and push the club forward.
“Delighted to get him in, he can play in three or four positions for us and will add experience where we need it.”
Alongside new signings, Duncan has also put through an extension for current striker Mikey Cunningham.
Cunningham has put pen to paper on a new deal, which will see him stay at the club up until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Duncan said on the extension: “Mikey has been a great addition and this is a big year for him.
“He can turn games so quickly and has great experience for still being relatively young.
“It’s great to get Mikey in the building for another season and looking forward to working with him.”
