PHIL OGAYI has signed a new deal with Alloa, which will see him wear the number 1 jersey this season.
The shot stopper was confirmed to be staying on Saturday, June 29, rounding off the goalkeeping department at the Recs.
Ogayi joins PJ Morrison and incoming goalkeeping coach Neil Parry as Alloa’s options between the sticks.
Andy Graham spoke to Advertiser Sport shortly after Ogayi signed again, sharing his confidence at the talent he has at his disposal.
“That’s us sorted in the goalkeeping department,” Graham said. “Really happy with that side of things.
“We’ve got PJ and Phil now which, in my opinion, as good a goalkeeping department as you’re going to get in League One.
“We’ve got Neil [Parry] there as well so it gives us three really good goalkeepers in terms of training standard but also in case of injuries as well.
“I’m delighted to see Phil has decided to stay, delighted PJ has stayed and great to have Neily on board.”
Ogayi was one of two names still up in the air from last year’s squad, the other being Quinn Coulson.
As the pre-season started again, Graham also said he would look to utilise the young Academy talent more.
As part of this, he has confirmed that they would look for a loan move for young goalkeeper Owain Clark, after a successful spell at Dundonald Bluebell last season.
Graham added: “We’ll probably look at getting young Owain Clark a loan deal again, he did really well at Dundonald Bluebell last year.
“It would be good for him to get another loan deal with the age he’s at and the stage in his development.”
