ALLOA will find out their Premier Sports Cup 2024/25 group stage opponents on Wednesday afternoon.

The draw, set for 1pm, will be made available on the Premier Sports YouTube channel and also via their X account.

Alloa have been placed in pot 3 after finishing third place in last season and will be ball number 20.

Joining them in pot 3, and meaning Alloa cannot be drawn against them, are Arbroath, Falkirk, Hamilton, Montrose, Cove Rangers, Kelty Hearts and Queen of the South.

All of the clubs in the SPFL pyramid will be included in the draw, excluding the five Premiership clubs participating in Europe.

East Kilbride, Buckie Thistle and Brechin City will also be participating after finishing top of the Lowland League and Highland League.

The League Cup has been given a big boost in prize money this season, with each participating club guaranteed to receive at least £30,000.

The group stage is expected to kick off on the weekend of July 13/14 and will last two weeks until July 27 and 28.

Should Alloa progress from the group stage, the second round - which will include the Premiership clubs - will be held in August.
