TWO sports organisations in Clacks have been selected for sponsorship funding by Allanwater Homes.
The developers recently launched their ninth phase of energy efficient homes at Oaktree Gardens in Alloa, and have now earmarked two projects worth sponsoring.
Tulliallan Golf Club and Hillfoots Vixens have been chosen for funding, with the latter having only recently been founded last September.
Lynn McNair, development sales manager with Allanwater Homes, said: “We are very pleased to be able to lend our support to not one, but two, different local sporting organisations in the area.
“Tulliallan Golf Club is the bedrock of leisure opportunities in the Hillfoots, with a beautiful course and a fine club house, while the fantastic young Vixens represent women’s rugby, a sport growing in popularity all the time.
“Newly established, and with their motto of ‘fierce and spirited’, they are looking for as much support as possible to help the club expand and attract new members.
“We are delighted to help them out with our support, and wish the club much success.”
The Hillfoots Vixens were formed in September 2023 and are part of the wider Hillfoots RFC, joining as their first women’s team.
Starting off with just six women at their first training session, they now have more than 35 members registered for the team.
The club recently started a Junior Vixens section for kids aged 12 and over, which has proven a hit in Clacks.
The Allanwater Homes sponsorship money was put towards ordering their very first home kit, which was officially unveiled on February 25.
Christina Swinton, who launched the club with head coach Jordan Usher, explained that the club has high aspirations.
She said: “We have ambitions here at the Vixens and hope to move to proper league games in the next few months.
“As a team, it was really important to us to have local businesses on our strip, and it’s great to have a mix of organisations, including Allanwater Homes, represented when we play.
“The women’s team as a whole has brought a new lease of life to our club, with a huge new group of members getting involved in volunteering and social events.
“We really appreciate the support.”
Allanwater Homes will be sponsoring hole five at Tulliallan Golf Club, with the club running a TV ad for the developers in return.
