HILLFOOTS VIXENS recorded their first ever win on Sunday, seeing off Galashiels by 51-24.
The Borders town made the trip up to Clacks for a friendly, but were short on numbers, leading to the Vixens loaning some of theirs for the clash.
The game started with a 14-a-side match, but with injuries piling up for Galashiels, the numbers were eventually dropped to 11-a-side to keep everything fair.
Teams spirits were kept very high after the home side convincingly dispatched Galashiels by 27 points, securing their first win since training began six months ago.
Christina Swinton, head vixen for the club, told the Advertiser: “The teams spirits were very high after securing the win just six short months after training began.
“Our next game is at home against Dundee University on March 31. On this date we also have our Rugby League team Forth Valley Vikings training from 10am-11.30am before the Vixens kick off at 2.30pm.
“This is set to be a great day at the club for supporters of all of the sections so we’d love to see lots of spectators down.”
