THREE more Sauchie Juniors players have pledged their future to club after signing new contracts.
Defender Ross Hutchison was the first of the trio to put pen to paper, extending his deal to the end of the 2024/25 season.
Speaking to the club, Hutchison said: “Sauchie has helped me massively in my development.
“Everyone associated with the club helped me settle in when I first came, it’s a great place to play my football and I’m happy to sign on again.”
Hutchison has made an instant impact since joining from fellow East of Scotland Premier side Broxburn Athletic.
Establishing himself as a regular starter in Fraser Duncan’s side, he has firmly rooted himself as Sauchie’s first choice left back.
Speaking on the club’s future goals, Hutchison added: “Definitely to win the League and get another good few cup runs in.
“We have a great squad of players and it would be good to pick up some silverware. We have quite a young squad right now, and the club is moving in the right direction.
“I’m always looking to improve my game and contribute to the club. It is important to be surrounded by boys who are wanting to win and get Sauchie to the next level.”
Hutchison wasn’t the only defender to sign on for the next season, with last summer’s signing Andy Kay also committing one more year to the club.
Kay said: “It feels good, I’ve settled right into the squad which has been easy with the group of players that we have here.
“It’s a great club to be a part of, you get a great feeling as soon as you walk through the doors here and that is also a great feeling for me for where I want to play my football.
“We’ve had a difficult season this year but I fully believe if we can keep the majority of us fit, we have a squad capable of making a real challenge for the league next season.”
Since coming in last summer, Kay has been able to slot into various positions in the Sauchie team.
He has made valuable contributions across defence and midfield over the course of the season. After sustaining a wrist injury in pre-season, he was kept out for a couple months but is keen to hit the ground running next season.
He continued: “It’s probably been one of the most frustrating seasons I’ve had personally injury wise right from the start of the season which hasn’t been ideal for anyone.
“I haven’t been able to get fully going to be honest. Fingers crossed there’s no big injuries to come and I can kick on now and fully show what I can do because I don’t think I’ve been able to show that yet.”
Lastly, Lucas Williamson has been the third of the trio to extend his deal just before last weekend.
The youngster joined midway through last season and has established himself as a regular first team player.
Manager Fraser Duncan said: “Absolutely delighted to get Lucas signed on again.
“He’s been in superb form this year, his game has came on leaps and bounds, he’s a reliable first team player now.
“Lucas is like Hutchy, he’s still young enough to go higher again and definitely has the ability and dedication.”
Sauchie visited Dunbar on Saturday in the East of Scotland Premier, coming back from a goal down to draw 1-1.
