A TRIO of Wee County women have been called up to represent Scotland at the disability darts World Cup next month.
Jane Carpenter, Lindsay Turner and Margaret Ferguson will represent their country at the tournament, following outstanding success at the Home Internationals.
The three previously pulled on Scotland tops at the 2022 edition of the European Cup before following it up at the Home Internationals series in Northern Ireland.
This competition saw the Scotland Ladies come home with six out of the seven trophies available to them, a performance which has seen the trio being picked for the upcoming World Cup.
Speaking to the Advertiser, Jane said it was a great honour to be called up again and that she was delighted to see their hard work pay off.
She said: “All three of us have been picked to go out to the World Cup in Germany in October.
“It feels brilliant to be selected again. It’s hard to get picked because we need to do ranking tournaments.
“Thankfully, all three of us have been selected again which is a great achievement and it’s brilliant to be able to represent your country.”
The Clacks trio are no strangers to success at disability darts, with Lindsay winning the British Singles Championships on top of them all being the squad which pulled off a near clean sweep of the trophies at the Home Internationals competition.
Disability darts is not played any differently to regular darts, save for the fact that the board can be lowered on the wall to accommodate wheelchair users.
