Young full-back Jonathan Tiffoney has revealed he is on cloud nine after rejoining Alloa until the end of season last week.
The former Ayr United defender had left the Clackmannanshire club in late January to pursue full time football in Ireland with Limerick.
Tiffoney has now returned to Recreation Park after an unhappy time on the emerald isle and is hoping he can play his part in the Wasps promotion push.
Tiffoney told advertiser sport, "I am delighted to be back at Alloa until the end of the season at least. I have really missed the place in the month or so I have been away and I am really glad to be back. The Ireland move didn't work out for me, I wasn't getting a sniff over there so I was pleased when I got the chance to come back here.
"The team here are back playing well again so I know that I will have to bide my time and hopefully I get another shot in the team. To be back and play my bit in the playoffs bid was a great incentive for me. Alloa is a great club - Paul has been terrific with me in my time here and it is just a great place to play your football. It is one of the best teams I have played in, they are a great bunch of lads here and the training is first class.
The 22-year-old was on the bench for the 2-1 win over Stranraer and admits he has endured a torturous year in the footballing wilderness due to a training fees issue that meant clubs could not afford to sign him on a full time basis. But he is hoping to impress in the final part of the season in Alloa to put himself in the shop window for the summer.
Tiffoney said, "It has been murder for me this past year and a horrible experience but thankfully that's all sorted out now and I can sign professional again for any club come June, so I am focusing on playing well until the end of the season and then I will see what happens in the summer." Meanwhile, his manager Paul Hartley is delighted to have the player back and feels it gives him a strong squad for the rest of the season.
Hartley added, "I am delighted to get Jonathan back. I think just for the cover in that position more than anything and I think that will be vital over the next period of time because I think you the strongest squad possible to make the playoffs.
"There will be one or two injuries and suspensions come up between now and the end of the season so we have to make sure we are ready on that front."
