A MAN has been taken to hospital in a critical condition following an assault in Stirling at the weekend.
Officers have launched an appeal in the wake of the incident, which took place in the Goosecroft Road area on Sunday, June 11.
The incident took place around 3.10am and a 23-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where his conditions is described as critical.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection and officers are continuing their work to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Inspector John Currie, of Stirling CID said: “There were a number of people around at the time of this incident and we are asking anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“If you can assist with our investigation then please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 0664 of Sunday, June 11, 2023, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
