A MAN has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for the serious sexual assault of a teenage girl in Stenhousemuir in July 2021.
Darren Bourn, 31, was convicted at the High Court in Glasgow on Tuesday, January 31, for the assault and a further two counts of indecent communication with two other woman.
On Monday, April 3, he was sentenced to 11 years at the High Court in Edinburgh and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
Detective Inspector Craig Faulds, Forth Valley Public Protection Unit, said: “I welcome the significant custodial sentence handed to Darren Bourn.
“Bourn’s behaviour towards women and girls has been disgraceful and I would like to pay tribute to those affected by his horrific actions.
“Police Scotland remains committed to tackling all forms of violence against women and girls.
“We have specially trained officers who are deployed to each case and work alongside partner agencies to support those affected by this type of abuse.
“I would encourage anyone to report abuse in any form. All reports will be thoroughly investigated.”
