NHS Forth Valley is urging people to get their free COVID-19 and flu vaccines.
With nearly 1.5 million vaccines already administered across Scotland this winter, the health board is reminding those who have not yet received their vaccines to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
The winter months see an increase in the number of people experiencing coughs, colds, and flu-like illnesses, with people staying indoors for longer periods and in larger groups.
This year’s vaccination programme aims to protect those most vulnerable to flu and COVID-19, including older adults, pregnant women, and people with underlying health conditions.
Pregnant women are also strongly recommended to take up the vaccines to ensure they and their babies have the best possible protection against serious illness from these viruses.
All frontline health and social care workers are eligible for the free vaccines, while all NHS staff are eligible for the flu vaccine this winter.
To make an appointment, people can visit the NHS Inform website.
Fiona Coan, NHS Forth Valley’s immunisation manager said: "Vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself and others and we’re pleased to see so many people across Forth Valley are coming forward to take up the offer.
"Evidence shows that the flu virus changes over time and COVID-19 vaccine protection fades.
"The vaccinations offered this season can top up your protection against severe illness from flu and COVID-19."
"Those that have not yet received their vaccines are strongly encouraged to come forward and make an appointment.
"We also advise checking www.nhsforthvalley.com/vaccines for local arrangements."
There is also a self-help guide on NHS Inform to help people check their eligibility for the flu or COVID-19 vaccine this winter.
