A CLACKMANNAN country singer has had her work promoted on the most famous billboard in Nashville.

Francesca Gray’s single Hear Me was advertised on the Nashville Sign, a 38’x36’ digital billboard on Broadway in the city.

The sign is situated at the 13-lane intersection of Broadway, making it one of the busiest roads in the state.

Francesca initially signed with a Nashville record label in 2022 after releasing her debut single.

Now, she has spoken to the Advertiser after being featured on the sign, which has promoted her latest music to thousands of passers-by.

“It’s been a wee while coming,” Francesca said. “I knew it was in the pipeline but I got the surprise back in October.

“Because of where I come from, having your face on the most famous billboard in Nashville is quite an achievement.

“I’m very proud, I’m very proud for my kids seeing that and I was totally buzzing when I saw it.

Francesca has finished her first album – a collection of covers written and recorded with her old record label MC1.

She has now started working on her second album with a new producer, which features more of her original works.

“Everybody entering and leaving Nashville will see this billboard,” Francesca added. “Independent artists can go up there as well as other country stars.

“It’s the most famous sign in Nashville and it’s quite something. My only regret is not being there when it went up.

“One of the hardest places to break is Nashville so to have two top 20 singles as a Scottish independent artists, it’s something to be extremely proud of.

“Hopefully my next single will gather more interest and do the same.”

Francesca originally hails from the Raploch in Stirling, before moving to Alva and then eventually Clackmannan.

She previously told the Advertiser that she wanted to be a country singer since she was a little girl, fighting financial hardship to get where she is today.
