AN ANNUAL festive treat will be coming back this year as the Wee County prepares to get into the Christmas spirit.
Carols by Candlelight will be held on Sunday, December 1 to officially kickstart festive fever in Clackmannanshire.
Held in Tillicoultry Parish Church, visitors will see the church lit up by around 40 candles while members of the choir perform hymns and songs.
Entertainment will be provided by Clackmannan and District Brass Band, who will accompany the church singing on the evening.
Eleanor Nicolson has been involved in setting up Carols by Candlelight and looked ahead to the event.
She said: “It’s been going on now for around six or seven years, with the exception of the Covid years.
“The church will be completely lit by candles – there must be about 40 candles at a rough estimate.
“It’s beautiful when it’s all done, it’s really smart when the church is so full, it’s always a busy one.”
Mince pies, ginger and mulled wine will be on offer for revellers following the event, with refreshments set up in the church hall.
The event will be by donation only, with no tickets or entry price expected, and all proceeds will go to the church.
Carols by Candlelight is earmarked for a 4pm start on December 1, with visitors urged to get down early to avoid missing any of the festivities.
