KEEN cider enthusiasts made good use of a weekend long event in Alloa Town Hall which celebrated the very best the industry had to offer.
Forth Valley Campaign for Real Ale held their bi-annual ale and cider festival in the hall, drawing in an impressive 800-strong crowd.
Attendees got to try a range of 65 beers and 21 ciders from all over the world as the event went ahead on Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9.
Wendy Ross, secretary for Forth Valley CAMRA, helped organise the event, which she said was a hit with visitors.
“It went really well,” Wendy said. “We had around 800 people which was slightly up from usual.
“Everybody had a good time and they all drank a lot which was good. We’ve had so many messages from people telling us what a great time they had.”

As part of the selection process, Wendy and the team managed to source drinks from the Isle of Man.
She explained that they had had their eyes on the Isle of Man for some time now, but hadn’t managed to get it over the line until this year.
“We got products in from the Isle of Man, we’ve been trying for a while but haven’t been successful so that was a big deal.
“The hardest bit for us to organise is choosing what beers and ciders to bring in.”
The event was held in conjunction with partner agencies, including Resonate Together, with proceeds going towards supporting the various groups and charities.
Next year’s festival is already booked, with the dates set to be confirmed by Forth Valley CAMRA.
