A SECTION of the footpath along the River Devon in Tillicoultry is set to be closed off while sewer repair works take place.

Scottish Water will be carrying out repairs to a sewer running underneath the existing path, which has been subjected to water erosion.

Members of the public will be diverted along a new route for their own safety throughout the works.

The affected route covers the section of the River Devon that is north of Alexandra Street and just west of the Wee County Men's Shed and uGym.

Construction of the new footpath will begin on Monday, November 18 and is expected to last a week to complete.

Signage will be placed along the path to inform residents of the diversion.
