AN ALLOA pet charity has been blown away by support from the community after it reported a theft.
The Cats Whiskers, a good cause devoted to taking care of cats and kittens around Clacks, shared that they had been stolen from on Wednesday, November 6.
As part of their fundraising, the charity sell items of jewellery from their store on Broad Street, but were left devastated after reporting one of their necklaces as stolen.
Speaking to the Advertiser, trustee Donna Hingley said: “We were devastated for the people in the shop.
“We felt so rotten for them. Everyone in our charity gives up their time voluntarily to help as many people as possible.
“For somebody to do that us, we felt we had had enough and had to do something about it so we put our post up.

“It absolutely devastated us because we love what we’re doing and every penny that comes in goes towards the charity.”
In response, The Cats Whiskers put up a post on Facebook condemning the theft, which rallied their followers into showing their support.
The charity received money through donations, which has been put towards the running cost of their work and for providing support to the cats in their care.
“It’s been lovely,” Donna added. “The support we’ve had has been amazing, the comments we’ve received, the phone calls we’ve had.
“The donations to our charity has been amazing and the community has really lifted us up.
“We couldn’t believe it. Thank you to everyone for all the heartwarming and supportive comments.”
