ALMOST £30,000 has been shared between good causes in the Wee County through a building society foundation over the last four years.
Money has been shared between 29 charities in Clacks from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.
Most recently, Dollar Community Development Trust received donations from the YBS grants after being nominated by colleagues and customers.
This donation forms part of the £29,550 that has been made available to good causes in the Wee County since 2020.
Andrew Robertson, branch manager at Yorkshire Building Society Alloa, said: “I am delighted that the charitable foundation has supported so many charities and good causes in our community, nominated by our colleagues and members.
“The donations have made a huge difference to people locally and it’s thanks to the ongoing generosity of our members that the charitable foundation can continue to support so many causes.”
The YBS Charitable Foundation made its first donation in 1999 but now, 25 years on, it has managed to put forward more than £10 million to local charities.
Charities are nominated for donations by colleagues and members of YBS, including 29 in Alloa since 2020.
Andrew added: “We’re proud to have helped to play a part in donating more than £10 million to charities and good causes across the UK.
“It shows small change really can make a big difference.”
The YBS Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference scheme in which members donate pennies from the interest on their accounts to help charities across the UK.
