THE lead of a mental health unit in the Wee County has received a Merit Award for excellent in the field.
Alison Keir, occupational therapy team lead at the Clackmannanshire Community Healthcare Centre, was recognised at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists’ Merit Awards.
She works within the older adults mental health team at the unit and received the award for the impact she has made on the profession.
In addition, she was also recognised for her involvement in raising the profile of occupational therapy in the Scottish Parliament and across local authorities.
She commented: “I am honoured to have been nominated for this award by occupational therapists in Scotland.

“I am delighted to have been recognised for my outstanding leadership skills and policy work.
“I acknowledge the personal recognition for my conscious and gentle commitment and I am grateful for this.”
NHS Forth Valley occupational therapists are employed in four care groups – notably children, rehabilitation, acute inpatients and the mental health, learning disability and old age psychiatry.
