A POPULAR walking track will be closed for a week to allow for the removal of a 300-tonne crane.
Scottish Water have been carrying out upgrading works to the waste water treatment in Dollar.
In order for them to carry out their work, the Devon Way between the A91 west of Dollar and Walton Crescent is set to close.
Closed from Monday, November 4 to Saturday, November 9, this will allow Scottish Water to remove an operating crane which was installed for the project.
The crane was previously introduced to the site in October, where the path was also closed for safety.
A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: “The first phase required a 300-tonne crane to be brought to the site to install the temporary treatment machinery which will be used while the investment work is being carried out.
“Access to the site is along a single track road which is popular with dog walkers and horse riders.

“We needed to widen the carriageway and put down special track to be able to safely bring the crane and other heavy goods vehicles to the treatment works.”
Scottish Water are carrying out the improvement works as the current machinery serving Dollar is reaching its end of life.
The machinery has been in place for more than 30 years, with Scottish Water aiming to have new and improved resources available from next summer.
The spokesperson continued: “Devon Way site in Dollar plays a crucial role in treating waste water, handling up to 1500 cubic metres per day.
“We are installing temporary machinery which will be used while the investment work is carried out.
“We are investing record amounts – more than £2 billion over the past 10 years – to address the challenges of ageing assets, increasing demand and climate change.”
