A shopowner in Alloa was threatened by shoplifters as he tried to stop them stealing from his store.

RC’s Snacknest, located on Shillinghill, shared a video on their Facebook page, showing a group of boys pocketing items from the store.

The owner published a post outlining the incident and sharing their disappointment at the behaviour in their store.

“I didn’t want to post this, but it’s important to make people aware,” they said. “Yesterday, a minor attempted to steal from RC’s Snacknest.

“Despite giving him a chance to return the item without further action, he came back, threatened me and tried to steal again.

“This is unacceptable, and for the safety of our community and our store, I’m sharing this video.

“We’re committed to providing a welcoming environment for everyone, but actions like these will not be tolerated.”

The video, shared on Facebook, shows a group of youths browsing sweets in RC’s Snacknest.

One of the boys in the video can be seen wearing a mask before pocketing items without paying.

Alloa First shared the video and released a statement condemning the group, calling on the community to band together against anti-social behaviour.

Their statement read: “We are disappointed to report a recent shoplifting incident at one of our new businesses, RC’s Snacknest.

“This behaviour is unacceptable and has no place in our community.

“Our local businesses work hard to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, and we are committed to supporting them in ensuring a positive experience for all.

“We ask everyone in the community to stand behind us in protecting our local shops and the dedicated people behind them.

“Let’s show our new businesses that Alloa is a supportive, respectful place to thrive.”
