PRISONERS staged a protest at HMP Glenochil over the weekend, speaking out against conditions in the facility.
Reports came in of the protest, which took place on Saturday, November 2 at the Wee County facility outside Alloa.
It is believed that prisoners were protesting conditions in the prison, seeking more time outside of their cells.
The protest was handled safely, with the Scottish Prison Service confirming to the Advertiser that it had been peacefully called off.
A spokesperson for the SPS said: "I can confirm a protest at HMP Glenochil was resolved safely, without injury or damage to property, on Saturday, 2 November, at 7.30pm."
It is believed that this is the second protest to take place over the last week at Glenochil, as prisoners continue to advocate for their conditions in confinement.
