A YOUTH club proposed for Alloa has taken a step forward as the developers received a sizeable grant from a fast food chain.
The Wasp Community Club received a £5000 contribution from McDonald’s in Alloa as part of their Community Foundation.
The popular restaurant, owned and operated by Elliot Jardine, made the donation as part of funds raised by the 10p carrier bag charge.
Tony McMinn, youth and schools coordinator at Wasp Community Club, said: “We are so grateful for this kind donation.
“Our ability to offer these programmes across the local community relies heavily on funding such as this.

“Thanks again to Elliot, Lewis and the team at McDonald’s for their invaluable support and we hope we can continue to grow this relationship in the future.”
The Wasp Community Club are currently in the process of renovating the former Klub21 site in Alloa.
They intend to launch a community youth club for kids in the Wee County to attend in order to plug a gap in opportunities for young people in the area.
This donation was made possible by the McDonald’s in the Community Foundation, which was set up by 16 franchisees of the fast food chain.
Lewis Jardine, community relations manager at Alloa’s McDonalds, added: “We are delighted to support the Wasp Community Club with this donation.
“The charity does incredible work, providing opportunities for a range of people across the local Clackmannanshire community.
“It is so important for people to have access to safe and fun facilities like this and we look forward to seeing how the club develops.”
