ALVA Medical Practice has reopened following its early closure yesterday afternoon.

The doctors' surgery was forced to shut shortly after 3pm on Monday, October 21 due to an emergency situation occurring in the waiting room.

Police Scotland arrived and arrested a 61-year-old man in connection with the disturbance, who has now been charged.

The medical practice closed for the rest of the day and cancelled remaining appointments.

Now, they have explained to patients that they will be contacting them with information on how to reschedule their appointment.

A spokesperson said: "Following yesterday's emergency closure of the practice, we will be open as normal today.

"We are beginning to contact patients who had their appointments cancelled as a result but if you don't get a call from us, please phone us and advise you were one of the cancelled patients from yesterday and we will do our best to reschedule you.

"Once again, we thank you for your patience in what was a particularly difficult situation for all of the staff and patients involved."
