A MEDICAL practice in the Wee County has closed early this evening due to an emergency situation.
Alva Medical Practice put up an announcement on their Facebook page, informing people of the closure and offering alternative advice for those seeking a visit at the doctor.
The post read: "The practice in Alva is currently closed due to an emergency situation having taken place in the waiting area.
"Our phones are currently diverted and we are unable to accept any incoming calls.
"All remaining afternoon appointments in Alva are cancelled."
The practice, which usually shuts at 6pm, also redirected people towards Tullibody Health Centre for incoming calls.
The post continued: "If you require urgent medical advice, or are awaiting a call back today, please call NHS24 on 111 or attend A&E if you feel this is necessary.
"Many thanks and apologies for the inconvenience caused."
