A 52-year-old Alva woman has been jailed for smashing a window when she began banging on a man’s door.

Nicola Dawson, of Caroline Crescent, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court by video-link from prison to be sentenced again for the incident.

She had been put on a community payback order earlier this year but is now in custody for another matter.

Sheriff Neil Bowie revoked the order and imposed a 60-day jail term.

Dawson previously admitted that on January 19 at Coblecrook Place, she attended the home of a male.

She repeatedly struck the front door, shouted, acted aggressively and repeatedly struck his window, causing it to smash.

The court previously heard that the man was at home when he heard Dawson’s voice shouting outside between 6pm and 7pm.

At around 9pm, he heard her again and he saw she was under the influence of alcohol.

She began hitting his front door and caused a window to smash.

Defence solicitor Kelly Howe said at a previous hearing: “The man is a long-standing friend.”

Sheriff Garry Sutherland told Dawson at the original sentencing: “On one view the most suitable thing would be to send you to jail.”

Instead, at that time he imposed a community payback order with two years of supervision.
