POLICE patrols will increase in Alva in an effort to combat the use of illegal motorcycles on private land.
Reports had come in of unregistered off road vehicles being used on private land across the Wee County, but particularly in Alva.
Concerns were raised regarding the use of motorcycles in relation to livestock in Clackmannanshire, noise pollution and trespassing.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We are aware of ongoing reports relating to the illegal use of motorcycles, particularly unregistered off road motorcycles, utilising private land without permission, throughout Clackmannanshire, particularly in the Alva area.

“This practice not only endangers the safety of the public, impacts the welfare and safety of livestock but also affects the quality of life of the local residents, from the noise and speed of such motorcycles.
“We are increasing our patrols in these areas to tackle this issue and anyone identified will be prosecuted and face having their motorcycles seized by police.”
Police also released a list of must-haves for any vehicle on the road, which include registration, a valid MOT, insurance and tax.
Drivers must hold a valid driving licence to be able to operate a vehicle.
