ALMOST 300 primary school pupils took to Alloa’s West End Park for the annual Cross Country Championships.
Organised by the council’s sport and leisure team, the event attracted 280 primary kids from across 19 primary schools in the area.
Competitors were made up of pupils from primaries 5, 6 and 7 as part of the Clackmannanshire Primary Schools Sports Association annual programme.
Secondary school kids got their chance to shine in the afternoon, with 85 kids from Alloa, Lornshill and Alva competing in their events.

The high school pupils completed a 1.5 mile course around West End Park, with 11 of them bringing back gold medals.
A spokesperson for Clackmannanshire Council said: “Many thanks go to Wee County Harriers for assisting at the event, Dave Ingram from Central Athletics as starter and many young coaches and volunteers for assisting the sports and leisure team to host this event.
“The event would not have been possible without the preparation of the pupils at their own schools and the staff who arrived early in the morning to set up the course.”
