WEE COUNTY businesses will be the first to know about contract opportunities regarding upcoming local authority projects.
Clackmannanshire Council is hosting a meet the buyer event at the end of this month, to share information on construction prospects.
The biggest of these upcoming projects is the Wellbeing Hub, which is currently going through the pre-planning stage.
It's set to be built at the Alloa West site just outside of town, a state-of-the-art facility that will include much-needed swimming pools adjacent to a brand new Lochies School.
Ellen Forson, council leader, said: “The Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School project is one of the largest facility development projects the council has invested in.
“As such, the development must provide benefits to the people of Clackmannanshire, beyond just delivery of the facility.”
Contractors and local businesses are urged to head along to Alloa Town Hall on Thursday, October 31 for the meet the buyer event.
It's being organised by hub East Central Scotland in partnership with the Supplier Development Programme and the council.
The organisers, along with Ogilvie Construction and Robertson Construction, will share information on the current pipeline of projects in the area.
Cllr Forson added: “This event will provide local businesses the opportunity to be among the first to learn about contract opportunities associated with the project and how to become ‘tender ready’ for bid writing for the supply chain selection process.
“So, if you are a local supply chain business looking to engage with these contractors and secure work in the Clackmannanshire area, please ensure to book your place at this important event.”
More information and details on how to book can be found at the Supplier Development Programme website.
