AN ALLOA couple are marking an important milestone in their relationship as they celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary today.
Alastair and Janette Brown met at a bar called Doak’s in Falkirk, back in 1961, going on to tie the knot three years later in 1964.
Originally from Sauchie, Alastair married Janette at Irving Parish Church in his wife’s birthplace of Falkirk on October 9.
Moving to Alloa, the couple went onto have two children – Douglas, born in 1969 and Lesley, born in 1971.
The couple watched on with pride as their kids went on to achieve great things – Douglas representing Scotland and England at cricket, now running his own cricket academy in Dubai.
Lesley went on to work in insurance and remains close to her parents, living right next door in Alexandra Drive.
The couple have five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, with Lesley and the family having planned a big day for them.
