RESIDENTS should expect disruption around the site of an explosion that took place at a house in Alloa over the weekend, the leader of the council has warned.
Emergency services continue their investigation into the blast, which took place on Kellie Place on Sunday evening.
One man was pronounced dead, while two men and a woman were treated for minor injuries at Forth Valley Hospital.
Residents in neighbouring houses and properties were evacuated as a safety precaution, initially housed in Alloa Town Hall until temporary accommodation had been found.
Councillor Ellen Forson, leader of Clackmannanshire Council, said to the BBC: “I think that local people should expect some disruption in the coming days, just to allow the investigation to take place and make sure that nothing is disturbed, that’s important.”
On Monday morning, SGN were spotted carrying out works along the front of the property, with the street cordoned off by police.
SGN confirmed to the Advertiser that they were likely to remain there to ensure that the property, and others in the same street, could be considered safe.
A spokesperson added: “Our sympathies are with all those affected following the explosion at Kellie Place in Alloa.
“Our engineers have been on site since Sunday evening, as part of the emergency response, and are continuing to support the incident while ensuring the area is safe.”
