A SLIP road connecting to the Clackmannanshire Bridge is set to be closed for a period of two days for repair works.

The connector road on westbound A876 at Junction 3 Bowtrees will be shut off to motorists through the night between 7.30pm and 6am on Friday, October 4 for resurfacing works.

These works were announced previously, but have now been rescheduled to this weekend – with the original dates October 3 and 4.

Now, the works will be carried out from Friday, October 4 at 7.30pm until 6am, with the same times on Monday, October 7.

A signed diversion will be in place via the A876 South Approach Road westbound, exiting via the local traffic slip road to Bowtrees Rounadbout, then taking the second exit to join the slip road onto the M876 westbound.

This diversion will add approximately 0.8 miles and 1 minute to affected journeys.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s south east network manager, said: “We thank road users and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out these resurfacing works.

“It is essential that we close the slip road during the works to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

“However, we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption.”

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland at traffic.gov.scot.
