KIDS at a Sauchie primary school have been promoting road safety thanks to a donation from Miller Homes.
Scotland’s leading homebuilder made a donation to Craigbank Primary School as part of their commitment to the Home Safe campaign.
This campaign is designed to enhance the safety of children on the roads outside their school and in the wider community.
The initiative serves to provide the school pupils with high-visibility vests to keep them safe as the darker months approach.
Siobhan Haldane, headteacher at Craigbank, said: “We are delighted with Miller Homes’ kind donation which supports us in keeping children safe.”
Miller Homes’ donation ties in with International Walk to School Month, which runs throughout October.
This drive aims to educate children on road safety and encourages them to be visible as they walk, cycle or scooter to school.
Miller Homes have been a staunch supporter of road safety for the past five years, donating 8000 hi-vis vests to children.
Louise Caldwell, sales director for Miller Homes Scotland West, added: “Our Home Safe initiative is very important to us, as it helps ensure children in our communities are as visible as possible during their walk to and from school.
“As the nights grow darker, road safety becomes even more crucial, especially during October when children are encouraged to walk to school.
“We’re excited to see families in Sauchie take part this year and pick up their high-vis vests.”
Miller Homes are currently in the process of building their Greenacres development in Sauchie.
More than 120 homes are planned for the site, which are primarily four and five bedroom energy efficient homes.
Families are now invited to Miller Homes’ sales centre at Greenacres where they can pick up a high-vis vest for children aged between four and 12.
These are given out on a first come, first served basis from Saturday, October 26.
