KINGDOM Group has been awarded a sizeable grant from two of Scotland’s biggest banks to drive forward its commitment to providing affordable homes in Clackmannanshire.
The housing giants have received £50 million from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Bank of Scotland to fund their development of 500 homes across the central belt.
The funding, which arrives in conjunction with government grants, will allow for Kingdom to provide hundreds of homes across , Clacks, Fife, Falkirk, and Perth & Kinross.
Leigh Grubb, director of corporate services for Kingdom, said: “The private funding market remains incredibly supportive of Kingdom and appreciates the vital role affordable housing plays in society.
“We received several competitive offers from funders and decided to split the award equally between two of our existing lenders, Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds, with whom we continue to have strong relations and who have consistently supported the sector in Scotland.
“During the current housing emergency, our desire to keep developing new homes remains strong, even though there has been some slowdown in our programme due to government funding restrictions.
“This funding allows us to focus on what matters most, providing high-quality, affordable housing for our customers across the central belt.”
Kingdom has provided several housing developments across Clacks so far, including the ambitious Primrose Place project, which has been built to be dementia-friendly for the residents there.
Details are yet to be announced on how much of the 500-strong allocation will be provided for Clacks.
