A KEY slip road for Clacks commuters will be closed through the night for resurfacing works.

The slip road exiting the westbound A986 at junction 3 Bowtrees will be closed for a period of two nights towards the end of this month.

The road, which connects the Bowtrees roundabout to the Clackmannanshire and Kincardine bridges will be shut off between 7.30pm and 6am on Friday, September 27 and Monday, September 30.

A signed diversion will be in place via the M876 westbound, turning at junction 2 via the A9 Stirling Road and Glenbervie Roundabout before returning along the M876 eastbound towards Kincardine Bridge and exiting at the junction 3 Bowtrees eastbound off-slip.

This diversion will add approximately 8.7 miles and 10 minutes to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Real time journey information and planning is available on X @trafficscotland and www.traffic.gov.scot.

Tommy Deans, south east network manager for BEAR Scotland, said: “We thank road users and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out these resurfacing works.

“It is essential that we close the slip road during the works to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

“However, we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption.”
