WEE COUNTY commuters are urged to plan in advance due to roadworks near the Clackmannanshire Bridge.
The M876 northbound Bowtrees off-slip, and the southbound Bowtrees on-slip, will be closed through the night next week.
The slip roads will be shut off to motorists between the hours of 8.30pm and 5.30am to allow for routine maintenance to take place on the M876.
Cars will be diverted via the A876 to the Higgins Neuk Roundabout, the main roundabout which leads to the Clackmannanshire and Kincardine bridges.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s south east network manager, said: “It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway, while these works are carried out.
“However, we’ll be taking advantage of the closures to carry out as many routine maintenance tasks as possible, reducing the overall need for closures and traffic management.
“We’re grateful to road users and the local community for their patience and understanding.”
The decision has been made to carry out these works without excessive disruption from overnight closures, owing to the temporary slip road open at junction 9 on the M80.
BEAR Scotland will be using this time to carry out works including grass cutting, drainage cleaning, sign cleaning, detailed inspections and road sweeping.
