A COMMUNITY garden in the Wee County is encouraging residents to take part in its survey to help inform future activities.

Tullibody Community Garden has been carrying out an extensive community survey throughout the summer months and is encouraging more people in the town to take part.

The aim of the group behind the community garden at Carseview, off Newmills, has been to improve the health and wellbeing of people and planet for years, having formed some 10 years ago.

Isobel Gibson, secretary, said: “We’ve interviewed partner organisations, schools, our own volunteers, and recently chatted with folks in the centre of Tullibody.

“But we now want to widen the net to more folks.

“All the information we gather will help us make decisions about what we do in the future and seek funding so more people can benefit from what we do.”

Isobel and other volunteers have given thanks for funding from National Lottery Awards for All, which means they could employ a consultant to help carry out the work.

The survey can be completed online and will be open for a couple of weeks.

The results will be on display as the community garden hosts a Doors Open Day event on Saturday, September 28, from 1pm to 4pm.

Isobel added: “We want to thank everyone who takes part and invite them to come along and find out what people thought of us.

“There’ll be free refreshments, garden tours, produce, and you can find out about all the different volunteering with us.”

The garden is also open every Tuesday or Wednesday morning with fresh fruit and vegetables available.
