TWO Wee County beauty spots have been listed as key tourist attractions across Forth Valley.
The Scotland Visitor Survey asked participants to provide reasons for why they visited Clacks, Stirling and Falkirk when holidaying in the country.
A whopping 81 per cent of answers described scenery and landscape as a main factor in their visit to the region.
In particular, VisitScotland, who commissioned the survey, highlighted the Japanese Garden and Cowden and Dollar Glen as hotspots during tourist visits to Clackmannanshire.
A release provided by the tourist organisation said: “The Japanese Garden, Cowden, consists of several acres of Japanese influenced landscape with a perimeter path around the small loch.
“Dollar Glen offers walks, deep gorges, waterfalls and an abundance of plants and wildlife and is designated as a site of special scientific interest.”
Significant work has been put into both areas to rejuvenate them, with the Japanese Garden undergoing works to retain its original design.
The Glen is a popular walking spot with tourists and locals alike, providing picturesque views and quiet walks/
Lynsey Eckford, VisitScotland’s regional director, added: “We know many visitors are looking for those experiences to allow them to get closed to nature.
“Gardens and woodland trails can be enjoyed all year round as the colours change with the seasons.
“We’re using our marketing activity and working with the local tourism industry partners to influence potential visitors at those early planning stages.
“Attracting visitors to Forth Valley’s garden benefits the many hospitality businesses and shops near the attractions, supports local supply chains and conservation programmes, provides employment and grows the wider economy.”
