KIDS with a passion for drama and performance or are just seeking a good time can now make use of a theatre club.

The Clacks Youth Theatre kicked off on Tuesday, August 19, providing opportunities for kids aged 10-18 looking for a creative outlet.

Provided by the Ochils Youth Community Improvement, the club will run on Tuesdays at the Bowmar Centre from 7pm to 8.30pm and also on the Ben Cleuch Centre in Tillicoultry on Fridays from 4.30pm to 6pm.

Lisa Keddie, development officer with the OYCI, looked forward to the youth theatre club returning.

She said: “There will be a lot of drama games, confidence builders and team activities during each session.

“We usually work towards a big performance at the end of the year but the sessions are led by the pupils themselves, so if they prefer to just chill, that’s okay too.

“In the past, we’ve put on a murder mystery show which was so much fun and we’ve also had guest artists in to lead the group.”

The Clacks Youth Theatre runs throughout the school year and pauses during the summer holidays.

For any kids who aren’t keen on theatre and performances, the OYCI offer a wide range of other free activities for young people.

Lisa added: “We had such a good group going before the holidays and they’ve all told us they feel more confident speaking in public and had loads of fun.

“Don’t miss out on this chance to be part of something special – Clacks Youth Theatre is ready to welcome you to the stage.”
