RESIDENTS in the Wee County are urged to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond in the community to represent the area at the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Scottish Parliament.
The parliament was officially re-convened in 1999, with Queen Elizabeth II presiding over the opening ceremonies.
This year marks 25 of the Scottish Parliament, with a planned special event taking place at Holyrood on Saturday, September 28.
As part of the celebrations, a local hero is to represent each area at the ceremony, with Keith Brown MSP urging residents to get voting for who they think is deserving to stand for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane.
He said: “I’m pleased to be opening nominations for a local hero to represent Clackmannanshire and Dunblane at the 25th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament.
“Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond for their local community here in Clackmannanshire?
“If so, please send me an email with their name, contact details and a short paragraph about why they should be recognised for their work before 12pm on Friday, August 16.
“This event is a great opportunity to celebrate a quarter of a century of the Scottish Parliament, and the fantastic work that local people do here in Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, alongside other local heroes from across Scotland.”
Emails to Mr Brown should include the nominees name, contact details and a short blurb about why they should be recognised.
Nominations should be sent in to Keith Brown’s constituency office by emailing keith.brown.msp@parliament.scot.
