A PLEDGE for people and organisations to better support local businesses in Clacks has now been launched.
Residents and groups are urged to sign the pledge to focus on local trade first, helping to boost the Wee County’s economy.
The Scotland Loves Local Pledge is a commitment to protecting jobs and helping their community to thrive by backing the businesses around them.
This has now been unveiled in the build up to the second Scotland Loves Local Week, which takes place from August 26 and is led by Scotland’s Towns Partnership (SPT).
Kimberley Guthrie, SPT chief officer, said: “It is all too easy to underestimate the impact that local people supporting local businesses and local businesses supporting other local businesses can have.
“But the fact is that every one of us can play a remarkable part in building better, stronger communities by doing exactly that.
“Our pledge is a statement of intent for those who back it – and Scotland Loves Local Week is your chance to shout about the great things happening to make communities across Clackmannanshire fit for the future.”

Shoppers are also urged to get involved both by signing the pledge and highlighting the differences that residents can make by choosing local.
This can be done by hosting a celebration event, inviting a local politician and putting a spotlight on the work they do by using the hashtags #ScotlandLovesLocal and #ChooseLocal.
