ALLOA High Street is set to take centre stage as judges from Keep Scotland Beautiful are coming to town.

The judges, representing the annual Beautiful Scotland initiative, are assessing community groups around the country in how well they keep town centres clean and tidy.

It's part of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom campaign.

Representing the town will be Alloa in Bloom, who will be welcoming judges on Thursday, August 8.

Juliette Camburn, senior officer of community initiatives at KSB, said: “This time of the year is so exciting as our volunteer judges prepare to visit our wonderful family of groups all over the country.

“Every year, we are blown away by the dedication, passion and determination of our groups to improve their local environment, not only for themselves and the people who live there but for visitors from across the world and for our wildlife too.

“Ahead of the judges visiting Alloa town centre on August 8, I not only want to wish them the best of luck but also thank them for their fantastic enthusiasm.”

Judges will be assessing Alloa in Bloom on Beautiful Scotland’s three pillars – horticultural achievement, environmental responsibility and community participation.

Successful groups will then receive their awards and celebrate their achievements at the annual celebration event on Monday, September 9 at Duthie Park, Aberdeen.
