A DUNFERMLINE man was found trying to get into homes in the early hours of the morning.
Callum MacKay, 30, of Bute Crescent, had been released early from a prison sentence.
He admitted that on June 8 he was found in the curtilage of two houses in Ninian Road, Dunfermline, without lawful authority to be there whereby it could be inferred that he intended to commit theft there.
On the same day at Fillan Street, Dunfermline, he entered a vehicle and stole a purse.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said at around 4.40am MacKay had tried a door handle at a house and then did the same at another property nearby.
Defence solicitor David McLaughlin said his client has had a long-standing issue with substance misuse.
Sheriff David Hall imposed a four-month restriction of liberty order.
