AN ALLOA school has launched an outdoor learning project to encourage families to take part in activities, thanks to Tesco funding.
Park PS recently launched the project after receiving £1,500 from Tesco’s Stronger Starts scheme.
The money was used by the Alloa school to establish a library of more than 30 “borrow” bags, which are filled with activity ideas, equipment and books to encourage families to go outside and spend time together while learning all about nature.
The bags come with a variety of themes, including den building, bug hunting, arts and crafts, pond dipping, bird watching and nature adventure activities.
All are designed to be fun with families working together, helping children learn about nature, develop creativity and build problem solving skills.
The bags were recently launched at the school with more than 30 families heading along.

They enjoyed trying out a selection of bags and activities while toasting marshmallows around the fire pit.
Staff at the school were delighted to see so many families braving wet weather to support the initiative and are looking forward to seeing how the project develops in the future.
