A CAR was set on fire in Tillicoultry over the weekend, sparking a police investigation into the incident.

Officers have launched inquiries after a Skoda Karoq SUV was deliberately set on fire at around 12.25am on Sunday, July 7.

The vehicle was set ablaze on the A908 at Marchglen, Tillicoultry, with a person seen in the area shortly before the incident took place.

Police inquires carried out so far have established that a person was around the area shortly before the expected time of the fire starting.

Now, officers are checking for any relevant CCTY footage from in and around the area which could provide further information.

Any passing motorists with any dashcam footage are also being sought after if they managed to capture images leading up to the fire starting.
