VOLUNTEER Week was celebrated by the Forth Valley Sensory Centre, with their 50-strong team hailed at a special event.
The FVSC group of volunteers help with a range of activities and events at the centre, which include helping in the sensory garden, running groups, driving centre and working in the café.
To celebrate the efforts of their volunteers, the charity led an afternoon tea at Dobbie’s Garden Centre in Stirling.
Jean Armstrong, volunteer gardener at FVSC, said: “The event was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious and it was so great to see all the volunteers together.
“Because we all volunteer in different areas, we don’t often see each other. So, it’s a lot of fun when we get the chance to relax together like this.
“We all really appreciate the centre putting the event on for us.”
The charity was recently awarded £200,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to enable them to tackle loneliness and isolation.
Hannah Wilson, FVSC volunteer co-ordinator, added: “We wouldn’t be able to operate without their vital support and we’re grateful for everything they do.”
