LISTENERS at Forth Valley’s premier radio station have raised a whopping £1 million overall for Strathcarron Hospice.

Central FM launched their partnership with the hospice five years ago, during which they’ve launched various fundraising campaigns such as the annual Big Birthday Tea Party and Win Your Wedding.

Over the course of the five years, listeners and programmers at the radio station have smashed target after target in their goal to raise a seven-figure sum for the hospice.

Ann Marie Miller, station manager at Central, said: “Since the partnership began in 2019, we have worked closely with the team at Strathcarron to create fundraising campaigns that compel and motivate our audience to react our donating, signing up to fundraise, buy a ticket for an event or quite simply volunteer for this amazing charity.

“When the pandemic hit, Strathcarron and Central FM came up with the idea to simply Stand with Strathcarron.

“We donated a high percentage of our airtime and presenter reads over to the hospice and our audience totally got behind the appeal and within a few months, the wonderful people of the Forth Valley were phoning in, emailing, sending pictures and videos of what they were doing and collectively they raised more than £400,000 in four short months.

“We look forward to working in partnership with them for many more years to come.”

Strathcarron provides essential service for patients with life limiting conditions for patients living in Forth Valley and parts of North Lanarkshire.
