A HOBBY writer from the Wee County has released his 10th book as his time-travel series continues to grow.
Author Don Green, who writes under Don Galloway, has published the next volume in his Time-Ryder series with his creative ideas continuing to flow onto the page.
But the Tullibody man is not looking to make a full-time career of writing as he simply enjoys the escape from everyday life.
The novel, titled The Witch in the Well, is the middle part of a trilogy and the eighth in the wider series, all available from Amazon Kindle Direct.
However, Don explained each volume can be enjoyed on its own while there are many "Easter eggs" and extras to reward those who have faithfully followed the series so far.
Don said: “This one is based in the Henry VIII period, just after he lost his third wife.
“The travellers turn up searching for this witch that’s trying to upset the timeline, they followed her from the last book, which was set in ancient Rome.”
The series blends time travel with historical elements and Don is full of ideas for many more interesting story arcs and characters.
In his spare room, he has mapped out all the books and spin-offs he is planning to do with everything set in the same universe with Don saying he has dozens more in his head.
The author said: “You don’t have to read all the books, just follow the story.
“But if you do, it fills in the wee gaps and there’s loads of Easter eggs in there.”
Don’s works have been resonating well with older readers mostly, he explained, and he has received some great feedback so far.

Speaking of his plans as a writer, he said: “I’m quite happy to just do it in my spare time.
“I’ve got my own work, my DJ work and my singing work so this is just in between – escapism.
“But I wouldn’t do it full time because then you have the deadlines and the pressures.”
Don has plans for an impressive two more books this year alone with hopes to finish the third part of the current trilogy by September, followed by a Christmas special spin-off closer to the holidays if all goes well.
But he is under no pressure as he simply enjoys turning his ideas into novels at his own pace.
Don, who works at Morrisons café in Alloa, has had some great feedback from customers already with people keen to get their hands on sequels as they are published.
