A NEW kitchen and bathroom showroom has opened in Dollar, providing bespoke fittings for Hillfoots residents.
Opened two weeks ago by Jamie Reid, JTR Fitting has been a hit with customers so far, replacing the old bridal studio on Bridge Street.
The owner spoke with the Advertiser to discuss how the business came to be, admitting that he had always had his eye on a showroom in Dollar after working in the area for many years.
Jamie said: “I’ve been fitting kitchens since I left school and I started my own business several years back.
“I always wanted to open a showroom in the Hillfoots and Dollar was an area that we’d worked in for years.
“We got the keys in March and we opened two weeks ago. We started a promotion where we gave out a free kitchen and bathroom which went amazing.
“We opened on the same day as Dollar Gala so we had a lot of the kids walking by dressed as Minions, so we tied our promotion into that.”
JTR Fitting opened at the start of June, launching with a competition in partnership with Central FM.
The showroom gave one lucky winner a free kitchen and bathroom fitting, tapping into their partnership with supplier Laura Ashley.
Since opening, the showroom has already managed to sell a few kitchens, with Jamie also doing his bit to help members of the public who stop by.
“It’s been going well,” Jamie continued. “We’ve constantly got people coming in asking us for advice so we’re still getting to help members of the public.
“We’ve taken in a good few kitchens, we sold a Laura Ashley kitchen two days before we opened which was a great start to the showroom.
“I’m working through my plan to price and I’m hoping to have another one sold by the end of the week.
“I’m not a pushy salesman or that, I’m not one for pestering the customer, when they’re ready they’re ready.
“They work hard for their money so it’s important for me to get exactly what they ask for.”
JTR Fitting can be located on 28a Bridge Street in Dollar’s town centre, with more information and contact details available from their Facebook page.
A website is currently being set up, which will offer much more about their products and units that they sell.
Jamie added: “One thing I’ve noticed about Dollar is everybody in the town wants to help each other.
“There’s a good vibe about the place, it’s a perfect location and there’s great community spirit in the place which is what I stand for.”
