MORE than 100 children from across primary schools in the Wee County took part in a football festival at Beechwood.
The kids, all from primaries 4 and 5 throughout Clacks, were treated to the festival organised by the Clackmannanshire Primary Schools Sports Association.
Held at Sauchie Juniors’ ground, the non-competitive event aimed to introduce football to more kids across the country and increase participation.
A spokesperson for Clackmannanshire Council said: “The players and teams showed great effort and dedication and were supported by parents, carers and school staff to prepare for the event and on the day itself.
“Thanks go to Sauchie Juniors Academy for the excellent venue and also for providing young players to volunteer as referees.”
For anyone interested in following up on football, Sports Development run a football class on Monday evenings at Alloa Academy from 6pm-7pm for kids aged 5-12.
